Martina Barth becomes new Managing Director at Swiss Regiomedia
Effective January 1, 2019, Martina Barth will assume the role of CEO of Swiss Regiomedia AG (SRM), as well as of Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich AG and FZ Furttaler AG.
The management organization of the Zeitungshaus Group will be redesigned as of January 1, 2019, it was announced on Monday. From January 1, 2019, the newspapers of the Zeitungshaus Group, i.e. Swiss Regiomedia AG, Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich AG and FZ Furttaler Zeitung AG, will be under a single management. The Board of Directors of all companies consists of Rahel Blocher, President, Rolf Bollmann, Delegate and Christoph Blocher, Member.
Martina Barth is responsible for the management of all 25 titles including split editions. The management and administration with finance, HR and IT of the newspaper house group will be located in Zurich in the premises of the Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich, according to Monday's announcement. Martina Barth has supported and helped shape the reorganization and restructuring of Basler Zeitung as head of corporate development since the end of 2012. From 2016, after the successful completion of the reorganization, she was responsible for the user market print/digital of Basler Zeitung as well as for distribution & logistics. Prior to her involvement in Basel, she held various positions at Tamedia in Zurich for twelve years. Martina Barth holds a master's degree in marketing and strategy. The new managing director succeeds Marcel Geissbühler, who has left the company at his own request. Swiss Regiomedia AG, Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich AG and FZ Furttaler Zeitung AG are wholly owned subsidiaries of Zeitungshaus AG. Swiss Regiomedia AG is the publisher of 22 free newspapers. In April 2018, Zeitungshaus AG acquired Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich AG, publisher of the Tagblatt der Stadt Zürich, and FZ Furttaler Zeitung AG, publisher of the Furttaler and Rümlanger, with retroactive effect from January 1, 2018.
