Markus Eisenhut leaves the Tages-Anzeiger

Markus Eisenhut, member of the editorial board, has decided to leave Tages-Anzeiger to pursue a new career. Tamedia wrote this in a statement on Tuesday evening.

Markus Eisenhut has headed the Tages-Anzeiger editorial team together with Res Strehle since June 1, 2009, and took over as head of editorial management on November 6, 2012, as part of the establishment of the convergent Tages-Anzeiger editorial team.

Markus Eisenhut joined Tages-Anzeiger in 2009 from the Berner Zeitung. Before becoming Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Berner Zeitung, the 49-year-old played a key role in the realignment of the Vorarlberg-based media company in Romania and Hungary. From 2001 to 2003, he also headed the editorial department of the commuter newspaper 20 Minuten. Markus Eisenhut, who studied law and German at the University of Zurich, was deputy chief of staff at the Tages-Anzeiger, head of news at the Sonntagszeitung, editor of Schweizer Illustrierte and head of sports at Blick and Sonntagsblick.

During his tenure as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Tages-Anzeiger, Markus Eisenhut was instrumental in developing the newspaper's content and introducing a contemporary layout as well as a new paper architecture with four newspaper bundles, according to the statement.
