Lokalinfo publishes neighborhood echo
Starting in January 2017, Quartier echo will appear as a supplement in the Zürich West neighborhood newspaper. The Echo will then be published by Lokalinfo, which also publishes other free neighborhood newspapers in the city of Zurich.

Due to age, the makers of the Zurich local newspaper "Quartier echo" have been looking for a partner in recent months to secure the future of the title beyond their retirement. Now they have found what they were looking for: Starting in January 2017, Quartier echo will appear as an integrated supplement in the Zürich West neighborhood newspaper - published by Lokalinfo, which has been publishing free neighborhood newspapers in the city of Zürich for about two decades. With the acquisition of the publishing rights of Quartier echo from Echo Verlag, Lokalinfo is underpinning its strong position in the city of Zurich's newspaper market. With the titles Zürich Nord, Züriberg, Zürich 2, Zürich West and now also Quartier echo, it is the dominant newspaper voice of the various city neighborhoods.
Quartier echo, which can look back on a long history, will in future be distributed by post to households in districts 3, 4, 5 and 9 once a month instead of fortnightly as before, with the previous circulation of around 75,000 copies - and this will continue to be free of charge. The format is new: the previous tabloid gives way to the larger broadsheet newspaper format. In terms of content, however, the new Echo remains largely the same: It reports in a variety of ways on the most important events in the respective city districts and will also retain topic pages for advertisers.
During a transitional phase, two previous employees of Quartier echo will look after advertising customers in their tried-and-tested manner and answer all questions about the changeover.
