Head of Information at Ticino Radio and Television steps down
The head of information at Radio and Television of Italian-speaking Switzerland (RSI), Edy Salmina, is stepping down. The controversial head will give up his post at the end of July at the end of his mandate.
Salmina will then return to his traditional profession as a lawyer, as the NZZ reported on Thursday. RSI had already communicated Salmina's departure last week. Salmina took over the management of the then newly merged information departments of radio, television and Internet in Ticino four years ago.
During this time, the department head came under heavy pressure at times: About a year ago, 110 journalists out of a total of around 180 complained about Salmina in an open letter, stating that they had lost confidence in him. The changes he had implemented had not brought any qualitative improvements. (SDA)
