Lausanne enters into a partnership with Lausanne Cités and supports the local press
The City of Lausanne intends to improve direct communication with the public and will enter into a partnership with the free newspaper Lausanne Cités starting at the end of September.

Four pages of "Ville de Lausanne" will appear every 14 days in Lausanne's only free newspaper, which is distributed to all households. According to the press release, the pages will be clearly identifiable and independent of the newspaper in the first bundle. Lausanne is thus following the example of several Swiss cities and municipalities that use free newspapers for their communications. At the same time, the municipality wants to use the partnership to help maintain a deeply rooted title in the region.
The municipality's proposal to the municipal council pursues the same goal, namely to support the local press in a difficult situation. From 2019, advertising space worth CHF 70,000 is to be booked annually in local titles that deal with local issues.
