Konsider: New portal on retailing, consumer goods and e-commerce

With Konsider, Switzerland gets a new online medium. The news and information platform reports on the consumer and everyday goods sector and is aimed in particular at professionals in this field.

Because half a million professionals deal professionally with food and non-food, with consumer goods, retail trade or e-commerce, the creators for Consider a great potential. Konsider was launched by Winsider in Winterthur, which already operates the industry portals Medinside and Inside-IT relocated

"This sector deserves much greater journalistic attention: it employs so many people, it has such a high economic weight, it sets trends so often, it includes such legendary brands, and it is so important to our everyday lives," says Winsider publisher Christian Fehrlin: "We want to create the digital meeting place for everyone involved and interested."

Konsider is still in a development phase. The editorial team is being built up by Ralph Pöhner and Roberto Zimmermann.

Ralph Pöhner launched Medinside in 2015, which has since risen to become the leading news platform for the Swiss healthcare sector. Before that, he had founded the financial sector site Finews. The journalist has previously worked for, among others Facts, the Weltwoche, The time as well as for digital projects at TXMedia, Swisscom and Ringier Axel Springer Switzerland.

Roberto Zimmermann was most recently deputy editor-in-chief of the Coop Newspaper, before that he worked as editorial manager food at Migros Genossenschaftsbund, as editorial manager at NZZ Bellevue and as Head of Style at the NZZ on Sunday.

Winsider is majority-owned by the Winterthur-based software company Deep Impact.
