Keystone-SDA enters into service agreement with the Canton of Bern

The State Chancellery of the Canton of Bern and the Keystone-SDA news agency have signed a three-year service agreement. Under the agreement, the news agency commits to expanding its regional coverage. In return, it will receive 100,000 francs per year in funding.

In particular, the aim is to maintain a service for the regional and local media that focuses on the sessions of the Grand Council and politically relevant news from the canton. This was announced by the State Chancellery on Monday. Resources will also be made available to expand French-language reporting on topics from the Bernese Jura.

Keystone-SDA operates regional offices in the canton of Bern in the city of Bern and in Biel/Bienne. According to the press release, the contract is valid for the years 2024 to 2026 and is based on the revised law on information and media promotion, which came into force on January 1, 2024. The news agency already has service agreements with the cantons of Graubünden and Vaud. (SDA)
