The European journalism award ‘Writing for CEE,« which comes with a prize of 5,000 euros, will be open for submissions again in 2012. The submitted topics should reflect life in Europe and its member countries, as well as the hopes, concerns, and aspirations of its people, and contribute to bringing nations closer together and overcoming prejudices.
Contributions published after August 1, 2011 can be submitted until July 31, 2012. Transcripts of radio, TV and online contributions are also welcome, according to the organizers on Presseportal.ch. The winner will be announced and honored at a ceremony in Vienna in November 2012.
Submissions must be in the original language, a translation into English and the author's CV. Further information and the submission form can be found on the Internet at Apa.at/cee-award can be retrieved.
The award, which is being presented for the ninth time by APA - Austria Press Agency and Uni Credit Bank Austria, is not an EU prize, nor is it a special prize for Central European or Central Eastern European topics. We expressly invite all European journalists to participate," emphasizes jury chairman and Head of APA Foreign Policy Ambros Kindel, adding that there are format requirements for submissions, but no thematic restrictions.
