Journal B failed - editors lose their jobs
The Bernese online magazine Journal B has failed in its previous form. The editorial team was given notice and from August the site will only be run on a voluntary basis.
Editor-in-chief Beat Kohler confirmed a corresponding report by Radio SRF's regional journal BE FR VS on Wednesday. More details will follow in a communiqué in the afternoon, said Kohler. The magazine was run with 350 percentage points of employment. Journal B only went online in September last year (Werbewoche.ch reported). The young editorial team published new articles daily under the headings of politics, culture and everyday life. The editorial team set itself the goal of showing the stories outside or behind the news.
The launch of Journal B was secured through donations from foundations. After that, financing was to be secured mainly through membership fees from the Berner Onlinemedien association. This has obviously failed. (SDA)
