Jens Berndt becomes Head of Group Data at Ringier
Ringier is strengthening its data division and appointing Jens Berndt, an experienced technology and digitalization expert, as the new Head of Group Data. He succeeds Merlin Bauer, who is leaving the company after six years.

With the appointment of Jens Berndt, the media company is underlining its focus on artificial intelligence and data-driven business models. Berndt brings extensive experience from management positions: He was CTO at Ifolor and SMG Swiss Marketplace Group and drove "growth and innovation" at Homegate and Immobilien Scout Germany. In his new role, he will report directly to Kilian Kämpfen, Chief Technology & Data Officer at Ringier and member of the Group Executive Board.
Change at the top of the Data team
Jens Berndt is taking over the position from Merlin Bauer, who was Head of Data Platforms at Ringier and is leaving the company at the end of April. With the introduction of Palantir's Artificial Intelligence Platform (AIP), Ringier has made progress in harmonizing its data and technology frameworks. These developments are to be further intensified under Berndt's leadership in order to optimize the efficiency and scalability of the digital platforms.
"I would like to welcome Jens to this crucial phase of our company's development," says Kilian Kämpfen. "His extensive experience in technology leadership makes him the ideal candidate to drive our data and technology initiatives forward."
With this new appointment, Ringier is continuing its strategy of integrating AI and data-driven processes more closely into media, digital marketplaces and sports media. The aim remains to drive innovation across platforms and further optimize the user experience.
