Izzy reveals billion-dollar business with fake celebrities
In the new film *The Celebrity Scammers*, Izzy’s investigative team shows how scammers use fake celebrity identities to swindle millions. The 50-minute film documents real-life cases, including an absurd story from Davos involving an alleged ABBA concert deal.

After more than 40 years, the cult band ABBA is returning to the stage. Thanks to solvent investors, in Switzerland of all places. The contracts are signed, the date is set and a stadium has been reserved. Everything about this story is true. But nothing is as it seems.
The new 50-minute film by izzy, the investigative digital brand of Ringier Media Switzerland, is entitled "The celebrity scammers". It is now available exclusively for Blick+ subscribers. Izzy shows how the celebrity scamming scam works and how the perpetrators are lured into the trap with their own tricks.
Absurd story from Davos
Real cases are told. Including a particularly absurd story from Davos: two elderly men claim to have signed an exclusive concert deal with the Swedish cult band ABBA. Contracts are signed, trips planned, advances transferred. In the end, thousands of francs are invested.
Deceiver to deceived
After "Die Enkeltrick-Betrüger" (2024) and "Anleitung zum Casinobetrug" (2025), the izzy crew take their new project to Nigeria, Sweden and across Switzerland. In "The Celebrity Scammers", world stars become bait, scammers become scammed and the big social media platforms take on a role that raises uncomfortable questions: What is actually still real and when can we trust our eyes and ears at all?
Cedric Schild and the izzy team make the scammers sing. This time literally. The film is part of Ringier Media Switzerland's investigative series and follows in the tradition of informative documentaries about current scams.
