IMS Sport takes over Bernerbär
IMS Sport, a sports marketing and media agency based in Köniz, Bern, is acquiring the Bern-based tabloid Bernerbär from Espace Media.
Espace Media is part of the Tamedia media group. The takeover will take place on January 1, 2017. During a transition phase, Espace Media will support IMS Sport in various areas to ensure a smooth transition, according to a statement.
Ueli Eckstein, Head of Regional Media German-speaking Switzerland and member of Tamedia's Executive Board: "We are pleased to have found a new owner for the Bernerbär in IMS Sport, which is anchored in Bern and has a broad national network."
Founded in 1983, Bernerbär is published weekly with a circulation of 96,000 copies. The Bernerbär will continue to be printed at the Tamedia printing center in Bern after the takeover. The two parties have agreed not to disclose the sale price.
