"Hätt ich doch": 20 Minuten produces rap song with Skip

The entertainment team at 20 Minuten is trying out a new format: Together with Basel-based musician Skip and the producer collective Vigaz Beats, they’ve created the dialect rap song «Hätt ich doch»—complete with a professionally produced music video. Samsung is on board as an advertising partner with a product placement.

20 minutes thinks for the videos posted on the platforms of 20 minutes and on social media, regularly issue challenges. Now, "Hätt ich doch" (I wish I had) is the first song and music video of its own. For the internal challenge, entertainment boss Stefan Viliotti took the unsuspecting presenter Vanessa Travasci to a music studio in Basel. The Basel dialect artist Skip and producer Philipp from "Vigaz Beats" were waiting there with a clear mission - to produce a song together.

"I was super nervous and convinced that I would fail," says Travasci about her first moments in the studio. But in a creative exchange with Skip, the song quickly took shape.

The editorial team agreed that the song also needed a professionally produced music video. Video producer Marisa Monteiro took on the production together with Skip. Samsung was also represented in the video as an advertising partner for a first-time product placement.

Editor-in-chief Désirée Pomper emphasizes the team effort behind the project: "The video does a great job of showing how 20 minutes ideas and how something big can emerge from something small thanks to the commitment and inventiveness of the entire team. From the entertainment team to the editorial team to the sales department, everything just worked perfectly."

The song and the video are now available on the Platforms from 20 minutes and on social media.
