Gruner+Jahr: Double-digit return with slightly rising sales
The Gruner+Jahr magazine group was able to maintain a double-digit return on investment in the first half of the year, with revenue rising slightly. The Bertelsmann subsidiary's consolidated revenue increased from 1.22 billion to 1.25 billion euros compared with the previous year.
Earnings before interest and taxes fell from 125 million to 123 million euros, as the company announced in Hamburg on Thursday. Adjusted for special items and one-off effects, the return on sales was 10.1 percent compared to 10.7 percent in the same period of the previous year.
