GIFF 2025: Audiovisual fiction in all its formats

The Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF) will present its 31st edition from October 31 to November 9, 2025. As the only festival in Switzerland that celebrates audiovisual fiction in all its formats, GIFF presents an extraordinary panorama of contemporary creations: films, series, and immersive experiences.

The 2025 edition will open and close with two films that explore the relationship between artistic creation and fame and power: "L'Inconnu de la Grande Arche" by Stéphane Demoustier (France/Denmark) starring Claes Bang and "Late Fame" by Kent Jones (USA) starring Willem Dafoe.

The series selection presents international productions such as Anne Rice's "Talamasca: The Secret Order" (John Lee Hancock, Mark Lafferty, USA), "Towards Zero" (Sam Yates, Great Britain) - an Agatha Christie adaptation, "Riot Women" (Sally Wainwright, Great Britain) and the Brazilian discovery "Oxygen Masks Will Not Drop Automatically" (Patricia Corso, Marcelo Gomes, Leonardo Moreira, Thiago Pimentel).

Swiss series are represented by "Intraçables" (Ami Cohen, Raphaël Meyer), "La Linea della Palma" (Maria Roselli, Mattia Lento, Thomas Ritter) and "En route pour Broadway" (Pascaline Sordet, Daniel Wyss).

The cinema program includes premieres such as "Mother" (Teona Strugar Mitevska), "Les Enfants vont bien" (Nathan Ambrosioni), "Gourou" (Yann Gozlan), "Rose of Nevada" (Mark Jenkin), "The Dance Club" (Lisa Langseth), "Hallo Betty" (Pierre Monnard) and "La Mise à nu" (Thomas Imbach) - the first Swiss feature film to be produced entirely virtually.

A special focus in 2025 is on the Dutch creative scene with the special section "Creative Netherlands". The Netherlands, which was represented at all the major festivals this year from SXSW to Venice and Cannes, will be presenting a selection of films, series and immersive experiences.
