Gerhard Pfister joins the literary club's panel of critics
The Literature Club on SRF 1 welcomes a new face to the panel of critics: Gerhard Pfister. From 2025, the doctor of literature will be discussing current books twice a year.
Gerhard Pfister brings in-depth literary knowledge to the SRF Literature Club. The German scholar and PhD Handke expert has already been a guest critic in various SRF formats and will in future appear twice a year as a permanent fixture on the critics' panel.
Premiere with Wolfgang M. Schmitt
Pfister will make his first appearance on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in a show with literary critic Wolfgang M. Schmitt. Together with actress Rachel Braunschweig, he will discuss the book "The Great Game" by Richard Powers. Jennifer Khakshouri will be the presenter.
Diversity in the panel of critics
In addition to Pfister, the 2025 team includes Elke Heidenreich, Thomas Strässle, Philipp Tingler, Milo Rau, Nina Kunz, Lukas Bärfuss and Adriana Altaras. Markus Gasser from SRF Kultur emphasizes: "With him, the discussion rounds in the literature club will be even more diverse."
Book worlds for a wide audience
The Literature Club is recorded nine times a year in front of an audience in Zurich. In addition to bestsellers, the focus is also on classics and non-fiction. The program remains available on Play SRF after the TV broadcast.
