Are AOL and Yahoo merging?
Following the firing of Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz, speculation is running rampant in the U.S. about a possible merger between AOL and Yahoo.
According to media reports, AOL CEO Tim Armstrong is already conducting negotiations with private equity firms and investment companies that are involved with Yahoo. Armstrong had already signaled interest in a merger with Yahoo last year, but was rebuffed at the time. One possible option is said to be a takeover of AOL by Yahoo, in which case Armstrong would become CEO of the merged company.
