FHGR and Maz enter into cooperation
As part of a cooperation, the University of Applied Sciences Graubünden and the Swiss School of Journalism Maz are offering a joint practice-oriented journalism specialization. The two institutions signed an agreement on Friday.
The UAS Graubünden and the Maz - The Swiss School of Journalism are pleased to announce their cooperation in the context of a specialization offer in the Multimedia Production (MMP) degree program. The cooperation builds on the bachelor's degree program "Multimedia Production" of the UAS Graubünden and the Maz advanced courses in journalism and synergistically combines the existing strengths into a new offer, the institutions write in a joint statement.
The new "Maz Vertiefung Journalismus" is intended to provide an additional specialization in a core topic of the bachelor's program, in which students spend a year intensively studying journalistic work processes and practical applications, from topic identification and research to the preparation of statistics and data journalism to community management.
Added value for students
An integrated editorial internship is intended to further increase the practical relevance of the Multimedia Production bachelor's degree program, it continues. "The new offering combines the teaching of theoretical knowledge with direct application in an optimal way. In this immersion, students can solidify their newly acquired skills in everyday editorial work and subject them to a valuable reality check," explains Maz Director Martina Fehr. This combination should create added value for both institutions.
