Honorary doctorate for Schawinski
The University of Freiburg will award Roger Schawinski an honorary doctorate next Tuesday.
The Faculty of Business, Economics and Social Sciences is honoring a "pioneer of the Swiss media landscape" by awarding him an honorary doctorate. It wants to reward Schawinski's "outstanding commitment to the establishment of private radio stations in Switzerland, media diversity, independent journalism and the right to freedom of information", as the university announced on Friday. The honorary president of the award ceremony, at which personalities from other fields will also be awarded honorary doctorates, will be SRG Director General Roger de Weck.
