The Sunday in revised layout
The Sunday newspaper *Der Sonntag* has revamped its layout. This is the first change to the newspaper's design since AZ Medien's Sunday edition first appeared in September 2007.
The new design concept was developed by Brigitte Gschwend and Marius Vogelmann, who are also responsible for the layout of the Sunday. They were assisted in the fine-tuning by Parisian designer Nata Rampazzo, who had designed the French newspaper Libération and the Figaro magazine, among others.
The renewal of the layout is intended to make the newspaper pages appear lighter and less cluttered. In the editorial, Editor-in-Chief Patrik Müller speaks of a more elegant and modern appearance. What stands out about the new look are the more generously designed opening pages of the individual newspaper bundles. The articles, each with a large picture as an eye-catcher, now occupy the entire width of the page. In addition, the text of longer articles is now supplemented with insert elements such as quotes or explanations of terms.
