The Swiss feature service is now called CH-Intercultur

Since its founding in 1939, the Swiss Feature Service (SFD) has been providing Swiss media outlets with feature articles by Swiss authors. To better reflect Switzerland’s multilingual nature, the SFD is adopting a new name after nearly 80 years. It is now called CH-Intercultur, or CIC for short.

After almost 80 years, the Schweizer Feuilleton-Dienst (SFD) has a new name. In accordance with the service agreement with the Federal Office of Culture (FOC), the cultural editorial team writes about cultural events throughout Switzerland. It also guarantees reporting in the three major national languages. In order to do justice to this multilingualism, SFD needs a name that is accepted in all language regions. CH-Intercultur, CIC for short, does not commit itself to any of these languages and yet is understood in all of them.

When it was founded in 1939, the Kulturpressedienst saw its task as "supplying newspapers and magazines with valuable feature material by Swiss authors". Today it reports on Swiss literature, theater, music, film, visual arts, photography, architecture and cultural policy. The regional editorial offices of Keystone-SDA are integrated into the work process. Thanks to this cooperation, the CIC's offerings have a broad impact. Conversely, Keystone-SDA benefits from an expansion in terms of content and form.
