The grandparents magazine is now also available in Germany

The first issue of Grosseltern-Magazin will be published in Germany at the end of October 2019. The Swiss publishing house 3G Media in Baden has signed a license agreement with Prix Medien Verlags- und Vertriebsgesellschaft from Wuppertal for the grandparents' magazine in Germany.

Prix Medien uses the journalistic concept and selected content from the grandparents' magazine. The first issue will be available in Germany at the end of October. Just as the grandparents' magazine has been doing in Switzerland for five years.

The first issue of the grandparents' magazine was published in August 2014. Publisher Dominik Achermann founded the publishing house 3G Media specifically for this magazine. The grandparents' magazine was the first magazine in the German-speaking world aimed at grandmothers and grandfathers and generated a positive media response when it was launched. "Our magazine is also a thank you for what grandparents do for their families and society," says publisher Dominik Achermann.

In recent years, the publisher has repeatedly been asked to launch such a magazine for Germany as well. "However, I was always convinced that you can't simply design and produce a grandparents' magazine for the entire German-speaking world, but that you have to take into account people's regional characteristics." A corresponding partner who also shares this conviction was therefore a prerequisite for Achermann to take the step beyond the Swiss border.

Aimed at grandmothers and grandfathers in Germany

Such a partner has been found in Prix Medien Verlags- und Vertriebsgesellschaft, which is equally convinced of the enormous importance of grandmothers and grandfathers for society as a whole. Grosseltern-Magazin Deutschland will focus on grandmas and grandpas in Germany. The look and content structure will be based on the Swiss template.

Dominik Achermann: "I am delighted that we were able to attract the interest of Prix Media with our concept. On the other hand, we are delighted that there is now also a magazine in Germany that builds bridges between the generations and can thus also draw attention to the importance of the many grandmothers and grandfathers in our large neighboring canton to the north."

The new launch is starting in Germany with a print run of 70,000 copies, with which the publishers hope to reach around 200,000 grandmothers and grandfathers in Germany.
