Comedy Central with new logo, new design and new shows from October

Starting October 1, Comedy Central will debut a completely new design and logo. The network will also add five new shows to its lineup.

With the new design, Comedy Central is responding to the target group's media usage behavior of consuming content anywhere, anytime and via a wide variety of platforms, according to a press release issued on Thursday. For years, the globe in the top left-hand corner of the screen was the unmistakable trademark of Comedy Central, according to the statement. However, with the increasing spread of new mobile media formats, such as the iPad, it has become increasingly difficult to integrate the old logo into new formats and thus onto new platforms. The new logo is simple and clear, so that it can be easily integrated into a variety of new media. The core symbol is the double C, which Comedy Central uses to mark its content and say "This is funny shit!". The logo thus emphasizes the quality of the content without having to be funny itself.

The channel is also adding five more shows to its program: on 22 October, the "Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen" will be broadcast, presented by Désirée Nick. It continues with "Immer wieder Jim" from October 25. "Jeff Dunham - Controlled Chaos", "What are you watching?" and "Happy Endings" will start in November and December. In addition, Comedy Central celebrates the seventh season of "American Dad" on November 13.

All shows will be broadcast with the new Comedy Central logo from October 1.
