Christine Gabella becomes Executive Board Member of Tamedia's Paid Media Division
As of January 1, 2020, Christine Gabella will become a member of the Executive Board of Tamedia's Paid Media division. The current Secretary General of Médias Suisses has been appointed as the French-speaking delegate of Marco Boselli, the Co-Managing Director of Paid Media responsible for journalism.
Christine Gabella will become delegate of Marco Boselli, Co-Managing Director Paid Media, in French-speaking Switzerland within the new Group structure, which will come into effect on January 1, 2020. In June, it was announced that the Board of Directors had decided on extensive decentralization with the aim of creating the conditions for the growth of the individual business units. From 2020, Tamedia will be organized as a holding-type company with four independent divisions: Paid Media, Commuter Media, Advertising Marketing and Marketplaces, each of which will have its own management and Board of Directors.
Christine Gabella, currently Secretary General of Médias Suisses, the association of private media in French-speaking Switzerland, will support publisher and Chairman of the Board Pietro Supino in public affairs matters in his activities for the industry. She will support Tamedia's paid media in French-speaking Switzerland and assume operational responsibility in projects and processes related to change.
Between 2006 and 2010, Christine Gabella headed the legal and human resources department at Ringier in French-speaking Switzerland. Before joining Médias Suisses in June 2017, she was deputy director of a psychiatric institution and then worked as an independent consultant to healthcare institutions. As part of her current role, Christine Gabella is a member of the Board of Directors of Keystone-SDA, and is also on the Foundation Board of the CFJM media training center in Lausanne. She holds a law degree from the University of Fribourg and is admitted to the bar of the Canton of Geneva.
Marco Boselli, Co-Managing Director Paid Media: "I am delighted to welcome Christine Gabella as a member of the new Paid Media Executive Board in January. Her knowledge of the media industry, her relationships and network in the field of public relations, as well as her competencies in the areas of human resources and law will be of great added value in this transformation phase."
