Christina Neuhaus and Pascal Tischhauser elected to Press Council
Christina Neuhaus and Pascal Tischhauser are the two new members of the Press Council. Neuhaus heads the domestic news desk at the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, and Tischhauser is deputy head of the politics desk at Blick.
The Board of Trustees has elected the two journalists as of the beginning of September 2022 and appointed long-time Press Council member Jan Grüebler as President of the 3rd Chamber and new Vice President. He succeeds Max Trossmann, who is ending his commitment to media ethics after almost 23 years.
"The passion with which Max Trossmann has championed journalism and the Press Council over the years is impressive and has had a significant impact on the institution: we thank him sincerely for this," says Martina Fehr, President of the "Swiss Press Council" Foundation. In addition to Max Trossmann, Michael Furger will also leave the Press Council at the end of August 2022 and change industries.
In the future, the Presidium of the Press Council will thus consist of President Susan Boos and Vice Presidents Annik Dubied and Jan Grüebler.
