Charlie Hebdo continues to pause
Following the terrorist attack on Charlie Hebdo in January, the French satirical weekly has suspended publication. It will be back on newsstands in a few weeks, the editorial staff wrote on its website on Sunday.
The employees were tired and exhausted, explained Anne Hommel, who has been responsible for public relations since the terrorist attack on January 7, which left a total of twelve people dead. The first issue after the attack had been produced in the editorial offices of the newspaper Libération and printed a total of seven million times due to great demand.
Previously, the weekly circulation was around 60'000 copies. Since this January 14 issue, the paper, which normally comes out on Wednesdays, had now failed to appear twice. (SDA)
