CH-Media newspapers appear again with split editions
Following the cyberattack, CH Media's newspapers are once again appearing in their usual format. The Aargauer Zeitung, Luzerner Zeitung, and St. Galler Tagblatt are once again being produced in a total of 16 regional editions.

On March 24, the joint IT systems of the publishing houses NZZ and CH Media had been attacked by cybercriminals (Advertisingweek.ch reported). As a result, the three newspapers had to do without split editions.
The repair work has now progressed to the point where a separate issue can be produced for each region again, announced the Aargauer newspaper, the Lucerne Newspaper and the St. Galler Tagblatt on Thursday on its front pages. Standardized expenditures for the regions of northeastern Switzerland, central Switzerland and eastern Switzerland are no longer necessary.
The criminals used a so-called ransomware in their cyber attack. Hackers can use this to penetrate a victim's computer system and gain access to or block IT systems or data. They can also lock out their victims with encryption technology and demand a ransom. (sda/jag)
