On Tuesday, November 5, 2019, the series "Forgotten Splendors" will start on TeleZüri. In the four-part series, TeleZüri video journalist Luca Laube, together with contemporary witnesses and experts, sheds light on the storied past of four abandoned places in Switzerland. In each episode, Laube explores the reason why a rest stop, a railroad line, an indoor swimming pool or a drinking hall suddenly shut down and consequently become deserted and forgotten.

The Walensee service area, which has been empty for more than 16 years, kicks off the series. Together with the last active landlord, TeleZüri visits the forgotten rest stop and looks into the reasons that have led to its economic decline despite its prime location on the A3.
