CH Media takes over the Zofinger Tagblatt

CH Media will take over the *Zofinger Tagblatt* as well as the free newspapers *Der Landanzeiger* and *Wiggertaler* effective May 1, 2025. According to a press release, the takeover is intended to secure the future of these publications and ensure the continuation of regional reporting.

The media industry is under economic pressure: falling advertising revenues and rising production costs are posing major challenges for smaller publishing houses in particular. ZT Medien was therefore forced to find a new solution for the continued operation of its titles.

Under the umbrella of CH Media, the challenges can be better met, as Corina Eichenberger, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of ZT Medien, explains: "Even if this step is difficult for us, we see it as the best way to secure the future of the daily and weekly newspapers and thus also preserve a large number of jobs."

Continuity despite change of ownership

CH Media is taking on 29 employees, which corresponds to 23 full-time positions. The Zofingen and Oberentfelden sites will remain open. However, four employees cannot be kept on.

"After we started with the Zofinger Tagblatt We were happy to offer our support to ensure the continued existence of the three newspaper titles in the future," says publisher Peter Wanner.

By integrating the titles, CH Media aims to strengthen regional reporting and emphasizes the importance of independent local media in an increasingly challenging market environment.
