CH Media: Doris Kleck and Anna Wanner take on new roles

The Board of Directors of CH Media has appointed Anna Wanner as the new chair of the Editorial Committee. The long-time co-head of the domestic news department succeeds Peter Hartmeier. Doris Kleck takes over as editor-in-chief for the national news section of the newspapers and their associated online portals.

The Board of Directors of CH Media has decided to bring the Publicity Committee closer to the Board of Directors and to establish it as a Board committee, similar to the Finance Committee. This involves a change in personnel: in addition to Anna Wanner as the new Chairperson, Kaspar Hemmeler and publisher Peter Wanner are also members of the committee.

The high-profile journalist and long-standing co-head of CH Media Newspapers' domestic editorial team will take over from Peter Hartmeier, who has headed the Journalism Committee for the past ten years. The current members Katja Gentinetta, Ludwig Hasler and Thomas Kessler are also leaving the committee.

"The Journalism Committee has an important function. It takes a position on strategic issues of a journalistic and political nature. I would like to thank Peter Hartmeier for his great commitment. I would also like to thank Katja Gentinetta, Ludwig Hasler and Thomas Kessler for their consistently constructive exchange of ideas and their many creative suggestions," says Chairman of the Board of Directors Peter Wanner.

Doris Kleck becomes editor-in-chief of the national newspaper section

In addition, the Board of Directors has appointed Doris Kleck to the new position of Editor-in-Chief for the national section of the newspapers and the associated online portals. Patrik Müller, Editor-in-Chief of CH Media, was previously in direct charge of the central editorial team and will therefore be relieved of this responsibility. In future, he will take on additional responsibility for the digital transformation of the newspaper editorial offices alongside his journalistic duties and the management of "Schweiz am Wochenende".

Doris Kleck began her journalistic career at the "Schaffhauser Nachrichten", followed by positions at the "Aargauer Zeitung" and later at the "Tages-Anzeiger". Most recently, she headed the domestic desk of CH Media Zeitungen together with Anna Wanner. Commenting on her appointment, Editor-in-Chief Patrik Müller says: "Thanks to her high level of integrity, Doris Kleck has strong backing in the editorial team and is a trenchant liberal voice in the Swiss media world. I consider myself lucky to have such an outstanding journalist and good colleague on my management team."

Anna Wanner and Doris Kleck will hand over the co-leadership of the Inland editorial team as soon as their successors have been secured. Both will remain active as journalists.
