Civic alliance calls SRF report on fighter jets a propaganda stunt
The Swiss Security Alliance has lodged a complaint with the SRG ombudsman's office against a "Rundschau" report on the F-35A fighter jets: SRF had acted as a "friend and helper of the group Switzerland without an army (GSoA)" with the report.

According to the complaint, which was first reported by the news platform ZüriToday on Tuesday, the "Rundschau" violated the requirements of fairness and transparency in its reporting last Wednesday.
The Swiss Security Alliance, which was founded in August 2021, criticizes, among other things, the fact that an expert who advised the GSoA initiative is presented in the television report. "His interest in preventing the procurement of fighter aircraft is not mentioned."
The program also suggests that the evaluation of the fighter jet was based on false scenarios. The argument put forward by fighter jet opponents that a jet is being procured to bomb targets abroad is simply adopted several times.
"Jet procurement scandalized"
"It is clear to us that the article's sole aim was to scandalize the procurement and create a mood against the F-35A," reads the complaint signed by Councillors of States Thierry Burkart (FDP/AG) and Werner Salzmann (SVP/BE) as well as National Councillor Thomas Hurter (SVP/SH) on behalf of the Alliance.
According to its website, the Swiss Security Alliance sees itself as a "ready and effective specialist and campaign organization". As a nationwide network, it aims to "explain the importance of an active security policy to the population in an understandable way and thus counter the GSoA and other actors". (SDA)
