Blick Group dedicates itself to the use of AI
For a whole week, the Blick Group is taking an in-depth look at artificial intelligence. It could be used to sustainably optimize work processes and deliver better content.

AI tools such as ChatGPT will be used to generate compact summaries of news tickers, for example, and the conversion of interviews into simple texts is also being tested. Also on the agenda: text-to-speech applications that turn articles into their own audio contributions. During a two-day hackathon in the co-working space Kraftwerk Selnau, the interdisciplinary Blick team will subject the tools to an initial practical test and check the results for their feasibility.
Deal with the topic
Marco Rüegger, Chief Product Officer of the Blick Group: "With AI Week, we are raising awareness of the countless possibilities that artificial intelligence will offer us in the future. At the hackathon, we can put our use cases through their paces directly from both the editorial and technical sides and thus work out potential applications early on in a creative setting."
Ladina Heimgartner, CEO of Blick Group: "The new AI applications represent a massive upheaval and a gamechanger for various industries - including the media. AI is here now, and we can either go into shock or deal with it. I prefer to grapple with it. We are convinced that these technologies - used responsibly - will optimize our work processes in the long term and provide us and our users with even better content. With AI Week, we're offering space and time to take advantage of technological innovations right from the start."
