Blick am Abend dismisses regional editors

Four regional offices of the free newspaper *Blick am Abend* are being closed as part of the *Blick* Group's newsroom reorganization.

Ringier announced the reorganization of the Blick Group's newsroom on Wednesday. There was also talk of the loss of "less than five jobs" (Werbewoche.ch reported). On Friday, it was announced that the regional offices in Basel, Bern, Lucerne and St. Gallen will each be closed with one employee. A total of three redundancies have been announced. The offices in Basel, Lucerne and St. Gallen are affected. The vacant position in Berne will no longer be filled. Ringier spokesperson Edi Estermann confirmed corresponding media reports to the SDA news agency. According to Estermann, the regional pages of Zurich, Bern, Basel, Lucerne and St. Gallen will remain and will be produced from the newsroom in Zurich for the time being. Estermann also told SDA that in the medium term there are considerations as to "how regional reporting can be reorganized". (SDA)
