Best of Swiss Web: The shortlist

The Best of Swiss Web jury has convened: Of the 306 project submissions, twelve made it onto the shortlist. Big brands are leading the pack this year; Migros alone has five projects among the top 12.

In previous years, smaller companies and start-ups have always made it to the final round, as detailed in a press release. This year is different: the big national Swiss companies and brands account for a total of ten of the twelve projects nominated by the jury for the Master's Choice. Including Ex-Libris, Migros made it into the final twelve five times. Postfinance is in the running with two projects and Swisscom, SRF and SBB with one each.

Another constant that characterizes the 2010 vintage as a whole: Web 2.0 and the topic of social media. Pascal Sieber, President of the Online Marketing category, comments: "Last year we were desperately looking for projects that showed how to use social media. This year, integration with social media platforms seems to have become standard. This finally gives online marketing what it has always been looking for: Interaction between customers and between customer and provider."
