Soon again bedtime stories on SF

Bedtime stories such as «Pingu» and «Dominik the Badger» are set to return to Swiss Television (SF). SF plans to resume broadcasting the short stories starting next year. The entertainment division is currently developing a concrete plan.

What this will look like in detail is still unclear. In the best case, the bedtime stories will start at the end of February 2012, said SF media spokeswoman Andrea Hemmi at the request of the news agency SDA on Sunday. She confirmed a corresponding message of the Sunday newspaper. However, the start of broadcasting could be postponed because licensing rights first have to be clarified and the archive material has not yet been viewed. It is also unclear which programs will be shown - according to Hemmi, "Pingu" or the cult classic "Dominik the Badger" and the "Cat Pirates" are possible. But new stories are also to be shown.

There will certainly be a Swiss-German bedtime story and possibly also a Rhaeto-Romanic version, the media spokeswoman added. The four- to five-minute programs will be broadcast at 5:30 p.m. on SF1 and will be shown after the program "Zambo. This program is now focusing on the 10- to 14-year-old age group. In order to offer something to younger children of pre-school age, SF decided to show the bedtime stories again, Hemmi said. They first flickered across the screen in 1968. At the end of 2006, the German-speaking Swiss programs were discontinued. They were shown in Romansh until the end of 2009. (SDA)
