AZ Medien acquires 50 percent of job portal operator Jobchannel

AZ Medien has acquired a 50 percent stake in Jobchannel, a Thalwil-based company that operates various job portals.

Jobchannel is one of the largest job markets in Switzerland and operates over 100 job and specialist platforms such as Kv-stelle.ch, Pflege-berufe.ch or Solothurn-jobs.ch. With the Jobchannel products, current job advertisements are published on these specialist platforms quickly, easily and in a target group-specific manner. Thus, the Jobchannel portals record around 2.4 million clicks on job ads every month.

With this investment, AZ Medien is further expanding its presence in the job classified market. Together with "myjob.ch," the job platform launched by AZ Medien in the fall specifically for northwestern Switzerland, the media company is expanding its network of job and specialist portals throughout the German-speaking Swiss market.

The operational management of Jobchannel remains with the two founders Christian Hanisch and Cornel Müller. The takeover is retroactive to January 1, 2017.

"Jobchannel is a strong partner in the Swiss job classified market. The investment fits perfectly with AZ Medien's strategy of showing its customers the best offers for their needs in each of the regional and national digital markets," said Peter Neumann, Chief Digital Officer AZ Medien, in a statement about the investment.
