AZ Medien strengthen online business
Rolf Cavalli, Head of Digital Media at *Nordwestschweiz*, will also take over as head of the regional editions of the *AZ Aargauer Zeitung* effective October 1, 2014, and will become deputy editor-in-chief.
AZ Medien is thus strengthening its online business as part of its digital strategy, according to a statement. The aim of the new editorial organization is to further expand the online presence of "Nordwestschweiz" and to launch new formats, especially with regional content. With the relaunch of the daily newspapers in June 2014, reporting in the regions was successfully upgraded. Under the leadership of Rolf Cavalli, the anchoring in the regions is also being expanded on the digital channels. As part of this reorganization, the online team is being strengthened in terms of personnel.
AZ's editorial team now has four instead of five members
Thomas Röthlin, Deputy Editor-in-Chief, has decided against continuing his employment at AZ Medien. He will leave AZ Aargauer Zeitung at the end of 2014. As of October 1, 2014, the editorial team of "Nordwestschweiz" headed by Christian Dorer will include Rolf Cavalli (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Head of Regions and Head of Digital Media), Gieri Cavelty (Deputy Editor-in-Chief, Head of Coat) and Roman Würsch (Head of Service).
Nordwestschweiz" comprises the titles AZ Aargauer Zeitung, BZ Basel, BZ Basellandschaftliche Zeitung, az Limmattaler Zeitung, AZSolothurner Zeitung, AZ Grenchner Tagblatt and the partner titles Oltner Tagblatt and Zofinger Tagblatt.
