AZ Medien: Oltner Tagblatt almost completely taken over

AZ Medien has acquired more than 99 percent of the shares in Dietschi, the printing and media company that publishes the Oltner Tagblatt.

This was announced by the Aargau-based media company owned by publisher Peter Wanner. AZ Medien already held a majority stake in Dietschi. At an extraordinary general meeting, the majority of Dietschi's current board of directors announced their resignation, according to a press release, and the new board of directors includes publisher Wanner, Rudolf Steiner (chairman) and Philip Funk. AZ Medien made a purchase offer to the minority shareholders at the beginning of June. With a circulation of 14,800 copies, the Oltner Tagblatt has been published in the AZ Medienverbund Nordwestschweiz for many years.

Dietschi's Board of Directors had recommended that the minority shareholders accept AZ Medien's offer. Dietschi made a loss in the last financial year. According to the company, the reason for the red figures was depreciation on the newspaper printing press. The Oltner Tagblatt is printed by Dietschi itself. (SDA)
