Telebasel Foundation becomes "BaselMedia Foundation" - with new news portal

With "Baseljetzt", the Telebasel Foundation is launching a new news portal for the Basel region - younger, more exciting and more entertaining, Telebasel announces. The news portal reports on everything that happens in the world and is of interest here. It's not just news that characterizes the app, which has been reprogrammed and redesigned from the ground up, but also entertaining elements and service offerings such as detailed regional weather. The Telebasel Foundation itself renamed itself "Stiftung BaselMedia.

The news portal Baseljetzt will be launched on January 18 as an app (iOS and Android) and as a website (baseljetzt.ch). Baseljetzt places great emphasis on interaction with its users via the comment function, article ratings, user content, reader surveys and reader competitions. Activities on social media are also being significantly expanded: a dedicated social media team creates content for Instagram and TikTok. The app is free and financed by advertising. No money from the radio and television license fees that flow to Telebasel is used for Baseljetzt.

The launch of Baseljetzt is an important step for the Telebasel Foundation in order to be able to continue to fulfill its purpose and consolidate its position in the future. It is clear to the foundation, as it announced, that the operation of regional television Telebasel will not remain its only field of activity in the future and that the online sector will become increasingly important. To make this clear to the outside world, it will in future be called the "BaselMedia Foundation". The name of the regional television station Telebasel has not been changed.
