"Artificial intelligence is an issue for everyone"
Primo Amrein is the AI National Skills Director at Microsoft Switzerland and the head of the LerneKI.ch initiative. In the latest episode of the Text Akademie’s AI podcast, he discusses the importance of basic AI knowledge for society.

How can we ensure that not only technology experts, but also the general population benefits from the AI boom? Microsoft has launched a global program to empower people in 20 countries, including Switzerland, to understand and use AI.
In a podcast interview with Christoph Soltmannowski, Primo Amrein explains how this initiative supports Swiss SMEs in particular, which provide two thirds of jobs. "People must remain at the center of everything we do in the future," emphasizes Amrein. "It's not for nothing that we call one of our technologies Copilot - not Pilot or Autopilot."
Does artificial intelligence threaten jobs? If anything, according to Amrein, it will be those who refuse to embrace new technologies: "When applying for jobs, managers now look at AI skills just as much as experience in the job and in the industry." Amrein is also convinced that human creativity will be more in demand than ever in the future when it comes to AI and creativity.
And how do you reach older generations who are skeptical about digital change? Primo Amrein gives an insight into Microsoft's educational initiatives such as "LerneKI.ch" and "Ai-fitness.ch" and explains why he is convinced that Switzerland can benefit from the AI revolution as a location for innovation.
The video podcast "KI und Gesellschaft - Wege in die neue Welt" is produced by the Swiss Text Academy, which also offers courses on artificial intelligence as part of Prompt Engineering. Two episodes are published every month on Spotify, YouTube and other podcast platforms. The podcast discusses how artificial intelligence serves or threatens us humans in our everyday lives and how AI is changing our working world. The topics are based on scientific findings and practical experience.
