Arte with new online portal
Arte has expanded its online offering. A new interactive platform is to accompany the television programs with additional information.
The Franco-German cultural channel is launching a new interactive platform on topics from its TV program, as Der Standard writes. "Arte Future" is intended to accompany television programs with additional information. Users can also exchange information in forums on the platform. This was announced by the broadcaster in Strasbourg on Monday, according to Der Standard. The background to this is the trend towards the so-called second screen: Viewers use a second screen next to the television - for example a smartphone - to discuss the TV program or search for additional information.
The new Arte platform will be divided into the thematic areas of environment, science, economy and society. According to the press release, the cultural channel is working on the project with the think tank "Club of Rome" and the daily newspapers Taz and Guardian, among others.
