AIB: SF doc film "The Model and the Doctor" receives award
The SF documentary film «The Model and the Doctor» by Helen Stehli Pfister has been honored by the Association for International Broadcasting (AIB). The AIB presented its Media Awards for the seventh time on Wednesday in London.
Stehli Pfister accepted the award together with Sarina Arnold in the "AIB Founders Award" category, as reported by Swiss Radio and Television on Thursday. According to the jury, watching the documentary is a highly emotional experience that captivates the viewer. SF 1 first broadcast the documentary on January 6, 2011.
The documentary is about a trip to Kyrgyzstan to visit children with facial deformities. Bernese pediatric surgeon Brigitte Winkler wants to pass on her expertise as a retired pediatric surgeon and member of the Board of Trustees of the AWD Children's Aid Foundation. Top model Sarina Arnold from Uri is accompanying Winkler on this trip. Arnold's daughter had a severe cleft lip and palate, which was successfully operated on. AIB is the industry association for television and radio worldwide. (SDA)
