99Designs launches tool for agencies
99Designs has launched a service that provides access to 200,000 graphic designers. The goal is to minimize time-consuming processes such as reaching out to freelancers, sending briefs, or coordinating designs.
Many agencies now commission external graphic designers for the graphic design of logos, flyers, posters or web designs. With the service "Pro Tools", agencies can use design crowdsourcing. The marketplace for graphic design, 99Designs, is supported by Accel Partners and the business angels Michael Dearing (eBay, Harrison Metal), Dave Goldberg (Survey Monkey), Stewart Butterfield (Flickr, Tiny Speck) and Anthony Casalena (Squarespace).
The agency can use the "secret" option to decide whether each designer only sees their own designs or whether all participating designers work together on a project. In the case of private competitions, the 99Designs graphic designers can see the invitation to tender, but it cannot be accessed by search engines outside the community. If the graphic designers want to find out more details in the next step, they need to agree to a confidentiality agreement. This can be more individualized by uploading your own confidentiality agreement, which provides for further restrictions.
These tools were developed on the basis of numerous discussions that the operators of 99Designs have had with agencies, the company said in a statement on Thursday.
