65,000 visitors at the two-day "Argovia Fäst
This year's Radio Argovia birthday celebration drew 65,000 visitors. The event, marking the station's 22nd anniversary, took place on the grounds of Birrfeld Airport.
On Friday, 20,000 people flocked to the Beizlifest, and a further 45,000 people took part in this year's Radio Argovia birthday party on Saturday, according to the station. The festival was already sold out by 9 p.m. on Saturday evening. Only visitors who had already bought a ticket for 10 francs in advance were allowed to enter the grounds, Argovia editor-in-chief Jürgen Sahli told the news agency SDA on Sunday night.
At the actual "Argovia-Fäst" on Saturday evening, well-known groups performed, such as rappers Bligg and Stress, the Basel Brit-pop band Lovebuggs, the Biel pop-rock band Pegasus, singer/songwriter Bastian Baker from Lausanne and British pop and reggae musician Marlon Roudette. The festival officially came to an end at 2 a.m. on Sunday morning. According to the Aargau cantonal police, there were several fights and assaults between drunks. However, there were no major incidents, they said.
