YCA 2013: Good mood at the warm-up event
It has been available for download since Wednesday: the briefing for the seventh edition of what is arguably Switzerland's most important competition for up-and-coming creatives, the ADC Young Creatives Award 2013.
This year's briefing event took place in the ADC Gallery in a tense atmosphere, with around 100 interested parties in attendance. After the introduction of the YCA head Philipp Skrabal, Jumana Issa made the start. She won last year with her team the film category and reported on her experiences from Cannes. Urs Schaad, Head of Marketing Communications Suva, followed with background information on the briefing. Urs Krucker (Chief Strategist Y&R Group) then presented the specific briefing. Suva's goal is to reduce the far too high number of apprentice accidents - around 25'000 every year - by half. A campaign is to be launched to target apprentices in occupations with an increased risk of accidents. In 2013, entries can again be submitted in four categories: Film, Outdoor, Cyber and Alternative Media. Anyone with a birthday on or after June 21, 1985, is eligible to participate.
At the end, as always, there was enough time for small talk over a small aperitif. For those who missed the event, please visit Adc.ch/youth the briefing and all submission instructions in German and French. The deadline for entries is October 15. Anyone born after June 21, 1985 may enter. Werbewoche is the media partner of the competition. (pd/hae)
