Change at the top of the Museum of Communication

From 2024, Bernese National Councillor Melanie Mettler will chair the Board of Trustees of the Museum of Communication. The politician succeeds Werner Nuber, who has been President of the Foundation for many years.

Generational change at the top of the Museum of Communication: Werner Nuber stepped down as President of the Foundation at the end of September 2023. A younger generation will now take over as President from January 1, 2024 with Melanie Mettler from Bern. The politician has been a member of the National Council for the Green Liberal Party since 2019. She brings experience in the areas of sustainability and innovation from her career in the private sector.

Mettler has a long-standing connection to Bernese culture. The Board of Trustees was particularly impressed by her commitment to the Foundation's concerns and her ability to inspire and convince others, including in the political arena. The museum, which is supported by Swiss Post and Swisscom, is therefore well positioned to continue its successful course. With the recently opened exhibition Nothing and new development opportunities with the Museumsquartier Bern, promising projects are on the horizon.
