The Vogt-Schild Group is seeking to improve the marketing of its range of trade magazines in Germany and is founding the magazine publisher GFI in Cologne. To this end, the Solothurn publishing house is taking over GFI Gesellschaft für Information mbH, which already publishes the weapons magazine Caliber and the B2B magazine Chemie Industrie. According to Rudolf Rentsch, company director at Vogt-Schild, the search for a publishing partner for the company's own international weapons magazine was the impetus for the expansion. With the new subsidiary, however, Vogt-Schild is also aiming to improve the marketing of its range of trade journals in Germany. This includes the titles Chemische Rundschau, Precision and Transportrundschau.GFI now employs eight people and generated annual sales of around two million marks before the takeover by Vogt-Schild.
