Visa supports Odermatt, Tschopp and Burgener on the way to Milano Cortina 2026
As part of the global «Team Visa» program, Visa announces its support for Marco Odermatt, Romy Tschopp, and Patrick Burgener. The payment technology company will support and sponsor these three elite athletes on their journey to the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

As part of the global "Team Visa" program, Visa officially announces its support for Marco Odermatt (Alpine skiing), Romy Tschopp (Para Snowboard) and Patrick Burgener (Snowboard). The three top athletes will be accompanied and supported by Visa on their way to the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The payment technology company is thus underlining its long-standing commitment to the Olympic and Paralympic movement and sending out a signal for the Swiss winter sports nation, which will experience the Games in its immediate vicinity.
Three Swiss sports personalities in Team Visa
The 28-year-old Marco Odermatt is considered one of the world's most successful athletes in alpine skiing and has represented Switzerland as a true role model for years. He embodies passion, reliability and at the same time impresses with his down-to-earth attitude. "I am delighted to have a new partner at my side in Visa, which is known worldwide as a supporter of the Olympic movement. The company stands for values that are important to me: Trust and reliability," says Odermatt.
As the first Swiss para snowboarder at the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Games and a multiple medal winner, Romy Tschopp is a well-known personality both inside and outside the sport. "The partnership means a lot to me. Especially because Visa is a long-standing partner of Paralympic sport and we are committed to inclusion together," says Tschopp.
The career of Swiss-Brazilian athlete Patrick Burgener is multi-faceted: he is not only a world-class snowboarder, but also a successful musician. The multiple medal winner for Switzerland will be competing for the Brazilian snowboard team in 2026. "As a long-standing member of Team Visa, I am delighted to be part of an international team with Romy and Marco. They are both exceptional athletes and great personalities - we can all build on a strong partnership," says Burgener.
Activations and commitment to sport
Visa has been a partner of the Olympic Movement since 1986 and was the first global partner to join the International Paralympic Committee in 2002. The company will also bring this partnership to life in Switzerland at the upcoming Games. Among other things, joint activations with partners and a social media campaign are planned to bring the athletes closer to the public in an authentic way.
"With Marco, Romy and Pat, we are proud to accompany three outstanding sports personalities on their journey. They all impress with their unique abilities and their dedication to sport. For Switzerland as a winter sports nation, the upcoming games in our neighborhood are of particular importance, and we look forward to sharing this anticipation with the athletes and our partners," says Santosh Ritter, Country Manager Switzerland and Liechtenstein at Visa.
In addition to providing payment services for spectators and organizing committees of the Games, Visa introduced the "Team Visa" program in 2000. Since then, over 700 Olympic and Paralympic athletes have been supported on their journey to succeed on and off the field.
