Tom Seinige

Chair of the Outdoor Advertising Jury

Jury President Outdoor AdvertisingHow do you rate the level in your category?: Generally high. However, here and there more energy is still put into a pompous appearance than into a good idea.
How is the quality of this advertising vintage in general?
His: The judging was very strict. Whoever wins bronze already has every reason to celebrate.
Your conclusion after 26 years of ADC: Has the standard of the submitted work increased, remained the same, or deteriorated?
His: Massive increase. A cross-comparison of the yearbooks alone shows this. However, the time aspect should not be ignored. Campaigns simply work better in a certain context.
Which works do you give a chance for the Cannes advertising festival?
His: The cock spot and the snowboard ad.
What stood out to you as you evaluated the work?
His: Too many old ideas and too many weak ideas.
Based on the advertising, will you now buy one of the award-winning advertised products?
Seinige: Of course. I already have fifteen birds at home. And a ship from the ZVV I buy next week.
Has there been any work that has achieved art status for you as an art director?
His: Advertising is advertising. Period. I'm getting bored with this art discussion.
