TBWA\Zurich: BBQ Around The World

Embark on a journey of discovery around the world with McDonald’s: The three new “BBQ Around the World” creations—and, by extension, the campaign—are inspired by a trip around the world through Australia, South Africa, and Argentina.

For the TV spots, travel impressions were captured in a very special way: By a team of tinkerers with a self-built camera, consisting of 6 synchronized GoPro cameras, which were merged into one image, so that a fascinating world is created around the traveler. This technology was made suitable for TV for the first time and celebrates a small world premiere as a spot for McDonald's.

The whole campaign is accompanied by a travel blog written by the lucky winner of the corresponding contest, Xavier Alfonso from Vevey in the canton of Vaud. For the contest preceding the ATL campaign, the Internet community could apply with a video (link to the Xavier winner video) and prove their qualities as bloggers. Xavier travels from 10 - 29 August around the world and shares his experiences (Link to travel video) with the social network community in the various social media Facebook Instagram.
